Just Friends

You don't have to tell me where you've been, after all, we're just friends.

You don't have to tell me know you came home, somethings are better unknown,

And you don't have to make up little lies, I can read all under your eyes.

But in the long run, I just want to know,

Is there any, any, any hope,

Cause I can't waste any more time,

On something that will never be mine?

You don't have to say those nice little lines that give me hope at wrong times,

And you don't have to bare all the burdens I bring, I'm fine under my own wing,

And you don't have to check in or even call, that makes me feel smallest of all.

But in the long run, I just want to know,

Is there any, any, any hope,

Cause I can't waste any more time,

On something that will never be mine?

You wouldn't have to buy me diamonds or rings, to me they don't mean a thing.

And you wouldn't have to tell me all that you've done, I know you wouldn't hurt anyone.

And you wouldn't have to give up the smallest of dreams, I just want you so happy.

But in the long run, I just want to know,

Is there any, any, any hope,

Cause I can't waste any more time,

On something that will never be mine?
